On Friday 20th June,2014 Music of Joy [MOJ] performed at Lawson Primary school in the Blue Mountains to over 200 children and their teachers. The group were amazed when the children knew the song ‘Inanay’ and sang along, using hand movements which added to the fun.
After being billeted in various local cosy homes MOJ performed in an outdoor area next to the main street in Katoomba at the Winter Magic Festival. The town was filled with people dressed in colourful costumes of every description, including a giant dinosaur who entertained the crowd with funny antics. Many people walking past obviously enjoyed the music and stopped to listen and then joined in the dance to Haida, which helped get the blood flowing on a chilly morning.
At 3.30 pm the group performed in the ballroom of the Carrington Hotel to a full house. It was a lively concert and many got up to dance. Everyone enjoyed the quiet meditation. As the musicians moved outside they were greeted with a light shower of rain and a double rainbow which added to the magic of the atmosphere.
