Matt Malley – Oscar and Grammy nominated artist writes to MOJ


Music of Joy was delighted to hear from the very famous Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globes nominated Matt Malley who used to be the bass player for the world renound band, Counting Crows.

Matt Malley is best known for co-founding Counting Crows back in the early ’90’s and appearing on their entire catalog as bassist up to and including “Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings” from 2008.

In the comments Matt sent to the Music of Joy, he said “I‘ve seen Music of Joy perform live on many occasions and they are a brilliant group. Their knowledge of Indian music and culture is extensive and I also own their CD’s as well.

Matt left Counting Crows in 2004 to “get off the road and not miss my little boys growing up“.

Over the Years he has Acquired Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe Nominations as a Songwriter.

Matt is now enjoying learning the Mohan Vina from the world famous Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhutt and is release many Indian music CDs.

We thank Matt for his support and we hope to see in again at Music of Joy performances.
